Eduardo likes to think of himself as a person of multiple interests. Has built a solid career in Portugal’s number one Telecommunications and Internet service provider where he took over management jobs in the areas of Product Development and Management, Customer Service and IT Management. During the time he worked as Product Manager he launched Mimo, the first worldwide pre-paid mobile phone, which is mentioned to this day as one of the greatest Portuguese innovations of all times. This drive towards innovation led him to join professional and personal interests – to travel and to enjoy life to the fullest- and Portugal Trails was born. This is a project that he grabbed with deep conviction and with the belief that Portugal Trails innovative approach allows travelling in an independent and yet safe way and enhanced by local travel consultants.
Vanessa Pinto, Sales Director
A Portuguese in love both with Portugal and Spain, since her mother’s side of the family comes originally from Seville. Studied Tourism at University and got a degree as an Interpreter Guide precisely because she knew that her true passion was to travel and to be in contact with many different cultures. And that’s exactly what she did for three years, having now returned to tell you all about it. Indeed to tell you about the secrets and hidden gems that are only familiar to a native. Vanessa also travelled through America, Europe and Africa yet it is in this little corner of Europe that she really feels happy and from where she believes, can turn Portugal Trails customer’s tours, into truly unique experiences. She currently lives in a coastal town on the outskirts of Lisbon.
Ana Medinas, Travel Consultant
Ana was born in 1982 in Lisbon but has always lived between the sea in Cascais and the plains of Alentejo. She is an Interpreter Guide by expertise and a traveler by heart. Further on, she attended a Portuguese and English Language and Culture Course and a European Studies Degree.
The years she spent in England and the many influences lived there, brought out a new will of knowing more cultures, more distant places and to move as much as possible in a multicultural, enriching environment.
Ana writes a weblog of short stories related to the life in the Alentejo of her childhood and occasionally, also opinion articles for well-being publications. She is an expert in building enchanting stories to tell to her little daughter at bedtime.
Portugal and Spain and their culture, especially gastronomy and wines, are a passion that she never fails to share with whoever wishes to listen to her. Traveling is a life motto.
Ana collaborated in the making of the Spain Guide by PortugalTrails by writing some of the texts related to History, Culture and Spanish Heritage.
Catarina Pires, Travel Consultant
Catarina was always very passionate about Portugal and Spain! Living in Cascais all her life, it was during her stay in London, while she studied an MA in International Liaison and Communication, that she found the will of promoting both countries and their great potential. Working at Portugal Trails & Spain Trails gives her that opportunity! Being able to design unique trips with unforgettable moments for each client, along with the change to promote all the great things Portugal has to offer, it’s what motivates her every day!
Cristina Chagas, Travel Consultant
Cristina, since childhood, won the taste for traveling and seeing the world. The only Continent missing now is Oceania, but it won’t be for long! Totally in love with meeting new realities and cultures, she saw in Tourism an excellent opportunity to share her taste for traveling with others. Has a Degree in Business Communication and also has a Master’s Degree in Advertising. Although Tourism is not her area of expertise, she won her passion through all her experiences as a traveler. Currently lives in a town by the sea on the outskirts of Lisbon, having previously lived in Barcelona (Spain). Her greatest wish is to share all her knowledge and to make every trip, to Portugal and Spain, unforgettable! For her there is no greater satisfaction than seeing that the trip she designed exceeded the expectations of the visitors! Feels fully accomplished now that she found her true calling as a Travel Consultant at Portugal Trails & Spain Trails!
Diana Ramos, Travel Consultant
Diana discovered her passion for travelling when she was a young child and it has not stopped growing. Her curiosity has led her to visit a lot of places in Iberian Peninsula, but she desires to visit and learn much more about her homeland and Spain. She loves Portugal and Portuguese food, and is really proud of the fact that her homeland has so much variety to offer. Every year she takes half of her vacation to discover more about Portugal and Spain, and the other half to explore other parts of the world. Diana graduated in Tourism Management in Portugal and also earned a certificate in Guest Service and International Tourism from the University of Central Florida, in the USA. Her enthusiasm for the Tourism Industry was reinforced by travelling in other countries, learning about different cultures, and even more by living and working in the USA where she shared her experiences with people of many countries and with different perspectives. Working as a Travel Consultant gives her the opportunity to put together all of her passions, and she truly loves it!
Filipa Rodrigues, Travel Consultant
Filipa always wanted to work in Tourism. Her passion for other languages and enthusiasm for exploring her own country and others is what drives her! She studied foreign languages, and specialized in Tourist Information. It is her goal to discover more of Portugal and Spain and to use her knowledge to put together wonderful experiences for her clients. Filipa has travelled through Europe and Africa, and looks forward to other adventures to discover other continents. She lives in a seaside town near Lisbon, and couldn’t feel happier about being a Travel Consultant at Portugal Trails & Spain Trails!
Isabel Azevedo, Travel Consultant
Isabel was born in 1992, in Oporto and always lived there until she moved to Carcavelos in September of 2016.
She took a degree in Occupational Therapy, but she always worked in Tourism for personal preference.
With parents in aviation area she travels alone since she was 3 years old knowing 3 different continents and many countries. So travelling more than a hobby is one life motto.
She is an expert in the North region of Portugal, especially in O´Porto city and surroundings that she still considers her city and where her heart is.
Joana Cambeiro, Travel Consultant
Joana’s passion for travelling started early in her life. The trip she did to São Tomé e Príncipe, a former Portuguese colony in Africa, where she volunteered to rebuild a school, was definitely a life changing experience. Through several other volunteering projects she met people from all over the world, who fueled her love for travelling and getting to know and understand different cultures.
This turned her into a fascinating and outgoing person who loves to meet new people.
When she started an apartment rental service in Lisbon, Joana soon realized that sharing her knowledge of Portugal was like a natural gift; so working at Portugal Trails & Spain Trails is like a dream come true for her.
When Joana is not travelling around Portugal or Spain – another country she loves – you can find her either hiking or cycling in Sintra’s Natural Park, just outside her hometown.
An absolute foodie, Joana loves a good traditional Portuguese or Spanish meal, together with some of the fantastic wines produced in the Iberian Peninsula.
João Branco, Travel Consultant
Ever since he can remember, traveling has been part of his life. Born in Cascais, João is passionate about his “Great” country and it is this passion that he wishes to share with those who visit it, providing them with unique, one of a kind experiences. Having completed his degree in Tourism Information, João is currently working on his Masters in Strategic Management – Tourist Destinations. He believes in promoting Portugal with quality service, presenting local culture and tradition as a value added and allowing each visitor to build their own knowledge of the territory and people through individualized experiences, tailored to their interests and objectives.

Since she can remember, Mariana has always been in love with other cultures, enjoyed communicating with foreigners and was passionate about travelling! She studied Translation in order to connect more with different languages and cultures, but only during her Masters in Tourism and Communication did she realize that the tourism world was her real motivation and that she wanted to show the world that Portugal and Spain are beautiful and wonderful countries, which she absolutely loves! Marta, discovered the passion for traveling when she was small. Marta loves Portuguese food, and is proud to live in a country with a huge variety of flavors and experiences to offer. With a Degree in Communications from the Catholic University, her enthusiasm for Tourism world was increasing as was traveling to different countries, meeting new people and cultures and intensified even more when she lived and worked in Brazil for 9 years in the network of Tropical Resorts group. The passion for travelling and getting to know the world had Nuno opting for a Hotel Manager Degree in Portugal. He has found his inspiration and pleasure on the art of hospitality, which he seeks for his travelling clients when organizing their tour. He makes a point in knowing his own country to show whoever crosses his path professionally and personally, all the historic, gastronomical and landscape interest points that can be found from North to South. The fact that part of his family is Spanish, takes his passion for gastronomy and culture across the border to the neighbour country! Pedro Luís, Travel Consultant
Pedro is a young man committed in spreading the belief that both Portugal and Spain are the most complete and balanced countries in the world. He is a Portuguese in love with both countries and their culture. He loves travelling and learning new languages. Having a bachelor’s degree in Languages, Literatures and Cultures with a Major in Spanish Studies, Pedro is currently working on his master’s degree which focuses on Tourism and Communication. He believes in cultural richness acquired through travelling, which is in his opinion, far more valuable than any material good. He is interested in studying Tourism not only as a hobby, but also as the multidisciplinary field that connects geography, social sciences, politics and economy. Portugal Trails & Spain Trails have given Pedro the opportunity to plan trips to what are, according to him, two of the best tourist destinations in the world.

Rita was born in Cascais, near Lisbon, and believes that it were the weekend detours with her parents, when she was little, what got her so interested in exploring the country, wandering through new sights and places, as well as understanding their history. The fact that she has always been keen on communicating with new people, led her to a Journalism degree, with the hopes of being able to tell what she sees and witnesses through her writing and also her photography, her two main occupations. Besides Portugal and Spain, to which she refers as two lovely countries with much to discover, she got to visit other cities such as London, Prague and Macao. Rita loves to discover natural sights, acknowledge new cultures and is very enthusiastic about independent travelling. Sofia began traveling at a very young age and always loved to discover new worlds, cultures and lifestyles. She graduated in Tourism Management in Portugal and furthered her studies at University College Birmingham in the UK. While spending so long away from her homeland she realised how much she missed the little wonder that is Portugal! There are so many secrets to unveil: the breeze of our beaches, the sounds of our cities, the traditions and unique cultural heritage, the melody of our language, the flavours of our cuisine, the warmth and friendliness of our people… Back in Portugal, Sofia carries on her quest for the hidden treasures of this amazing country, and set off to discover the charms of Spain as well.
